This module covers the core functionality of the Screenhub homepage and how users can interact with and manage posts.
How to Navigate the Homepage #
- Feed:
- The main section of the homepage displays a scrollable feed of posts from your network.
- To view posts, simply scroll up or down.
- Each post includes:
- User Profile Picture and Name: Identifies the post’s author.
- Post Content: The text, images, or links shared in the post.
- Interaction Buttons: Buttons to Like, Comment, and Share the post.
- Create Post:
- A “Create Post” button is located on the top
- Tap this button to create a new post
- Search:
- The search bar is located on the top right on the screen.
- To search:
- Tap the search bar.
- Enter your search query.
- You can search for: Creators and Organizations by name or username, Projects and posts by title and Jobs by title.
- Tap the “Search” or “Enter” key to initiate the search.
- Notifications:
- The notification icon is located in the top right before the profile icon.
- A number on the icon indicates unread notifications.
- To view notifications:
- Tap the notification icon.
- A list of notifications will be displayed, including: Likes, comments, and shares on your posts, Connection requests, Job recommendations, Other relevant updates.
- Profile:
- The profile icon is located in the top right corner.
- To view your profile, tap the profile icon.
- Side Menu:
- The side menu can be accessed by tapping on the profile icon located on the top right corner.
- The side menu contains options for:
- Profile: Accessing your user profile.
- Bookmarks: Viewing saved items.
- Settings: Configuring app preferences.
- Help and Support: Accessing documentation and support resources.
- Contact Us: Reaching out to the ScreenHub team.
- Invite Friends: Sharing ScreenHub with others.
- Log Out: Signing out of your account.
How to Create a Post #
- Tap the “Create Post” button on the homepage.
- A “Create Post” pop-up screen will appear.
- Fill in the post details:
- Post Title: Enter a title for your post.
- Post Description: Enter the main content of your post. You can include links in the description.
- Image Upload (Optional):
- Tap the image button of the bottom left.
- Select an image from your device’s gallery or camera.
- Tap the “Post” to publish your post.
How to Edit a Post #
- Navigate to the post you want to edit in the feed.
- Locate the “Edit” button from the three dots on the post. This button is only visible on posts that you have created.
- Tap the “Edit” button.
- The “Edit Post” pop-up screen will appear, pre-filled with the current post content.
- Modify the following fields as needed:
- Post Description: Edit the text of your post.
- Post Image (Optional): You may be able to replace the existing image, and upload a new one.
- Post Tags (Optional): If your system supports tags, you can add, edit, or remove them.
- Tap the “Update” button to confirm your changes.
- A success message will be displayed to confirm that the post has been updated.
- Error Handling: The system will display error messages if there are any problems with the update (e.g., invalid input).
How to View a Post #
- Navigate to the post in the profile.
- Tap on the post to view the full details.
- The post details screen will display:
- Post Content: The complete text and images of the post.
- Author Information: The author’s name and profile picture.
- Timestamp: The date and time the post was created.
- Interaction Options:
- Like: Tap the “Like” button to like the post
- Comment: Tap the “Comment” section to add a comment
- Share: Tap the “Share” button to share the post
- Edit/Delete: If you are the author, you will see “Edit” and “Delete” options
- Report: You can report other user’s post if you deem it inappropriate.
- Error Handling: If a post has been deleted or is unavailable, the app will display an appropriate error message.
How to Delete a Post #
- Navigate to the post you want to delete.
- Locate the “Delete” button from three dots on the post. This button is only visible on posts you have created.
- Tap the “Delete” button.
- A confirmation prompt will appear to ensure you want to delete the post.
- Tap “Delete” to proceed with deletion.
- The post will be permanently removed.
- A success message will be displayed.
How to Like a Post #
- Navigate to the post you want to like.
- Locate the “Like” button on the post, a heart icon.
- Tap the “Like” button.
- The button will toggle its state:
- If you haven’t liked the post, tapping the button will like it.
- If you have already liked the post, tapping the button will unlike it.
- The number of likes displayed next to the button will update to reflect your action.
- The post’s author will receive a notification that you liked their post.
How to Comment on a Post #
- Navigate to the post you want to comment on.
- Locate the comment input field below the post.
- Tap the comment input field and enter your comment.
- Tap the “Arrow” button to submit your comment.
- Your comment will be displayed below the post.
- Replying to Comments:
- A “Reply” button or option on each comment.
- Tap “Reply” to enter a reply to that specific comment.
- Deleting Your Comments:
- You should be able to delete your own comments.
- Locate the “Delete” option on your comment from thre dots.
- Tap “Delete” and confirm to delete your comment.
- Liking Comments:
- Similar to posts, comments can also be liked.
- Tap the “Like” button on a comment to like it.
- Notifications: You will receive notifications for replies to your comments.
How to Report a Comment (on a Post) #
- Navigate to the comment you want to report.
- Locate the “Report” option from the three dots on the comment.
- Tap the “Report” option.
- A pop-up screen will appear with a text field.
- Select the reason for reporting the comment and write the reason in the text field.
- Tap the “Report” to submit your report.
- A confirmation message will be displayed to confirm that the report has been sent.
- The report will be sent to the administrators for review.
How to Share a Post #
- Navigate to the post you want to share.
- Locate the “Share” button on the post.
- Tap the “Share” button.
- A menu of sharing options will appear.
- Select the “Copy Link” option.
- The post’s unique link will be copied to your clipboard.
- You can then paste this link into other applications or messages to share the post.
How to Report a Post #
- Navigate to the post you want to report.
- Locate the “Report” option from the three dots on the post.
- Tap the “Report” option.
- A pop-up screen will appear with a text field.
- Select the reason for reporting the comment and write the reason in the text field.
- Tap the “Report” to submit your report.
- A confirmation message will be displayed to confirm that the report has been sent.
- The report will be sent to the administrators for review.
